Punk Prom

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

If you don't follow me on twitter and spent last night watching the Warriors game {bummer}; you might have forgotten that last night was the who's who of the fashion & music world ultimate night, the Met Gala, Chaos to Couture. Here are my picks for best and worst dressed!

3 words: Sarah. Jessica. Parker. I mean, duh! What else would you expect from her? With a custom made Philip Treacy Mohawk headpiece, nuff said.
I can't even believe I'm typing this, but Miley Cryus was on point. Her blonde spiky pixie with mesh Marc Jacobs dress and pop red lip was perfection.
I don't know if I'll ever get enough of Cara Delevingne and fingers crossed I don't. She is just quirky and cool which is what I love about her. Last night was no exception and I love that she stuck to her British roots and rocked Burberry.

Yes, I get it. It's custom Givenchy {which I would kill to have the opportunity} but Kim Kardashian looked so out of place. I'm still confused as to why Lady Wintour allowed her to attend, let alone in a couch slip.
Wait, isn't Kristen Steward the self claimed punk rock princess? While her Stella McCartney is amazing, I think she could have done a bit more.
Heidi Klum, I'm so disappointed I can barely deal! You are the queen of dress up parties and you wore a boring white column Marchesa to the Met Gala, themed Punk?!!?!?

So you agree... they forgot to mail your Met Gala invite too

  2. Bah, they totes lost my invite in the mail! I SO agree with all you said- Kim looks like a couch slip, so out of place.

    1. Ugh right Carlina? We need to send them a note to be sure we're on the list next year. Happy hump day love!

    1. Thanks lady! I think there were a few more misses than hits though, thoughts?

    2. Donna, I could not agree more with all of this. Especially Kim K's horrendous maternity dress. She really could have found something so much more spectacular for her adorable pregnant body!

    3. Right Bethann? I think there were so many more options available to her that would have flattered and complimented the bump. I get why she did it, because look everyone is talking about it, but still. No bueno.
