3 FOR ME {JULY}

Thursday, July 31, 2014

July was such an exciting  and busy month! This month's installment includes a love story in today's digital world, a meal on call option and a beauty product to help you be better inside.

Book: Americanah
By: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

My Dad gives me a few books as Christmas gifts every year. I received Americanah from my him last year and I don't know why it's taken me this long to read it! Americanah instantly captivated me with its vivid descriptions. Americanah is a story about love and race of a couple from Nigeria and their struggles growing up.

So... I kinda, sorta cheated this month for my 'try a new restaurant'. July's been a whirlwind month, from traveling to wrapping up my old j-o-b and starting a new one, there hasn't been much extra time for exploring new eateries. So, when my beau learned about Spoon Rocket (and became obsessed) I figured this was pretty close to trying a 'new' restaurant.

Spoon Rocket is a San Francisco/East Bay meal delivery company that creates new meal options everyday. Other awesome things, they'll deliver a tasty meal to your front door in under 20 minutes, each meal is personal sized & under 10 bones. It's great for lazy evenings and hectic days in the office. Sign up to see what the daily meal options are & a $10 credit (aka a free meal)!

P.S. This was not sponsored by Spoon Rocket. This is an awesome meal option in my area that I'm pumped we stumbled upon.

A local eatery that I love to head to for a healthy bite is The Plant Cafe. I've always wanted to do a juice cleanse but always found an excuse not to. So when I had a few days in between jobs I decided to give one a try. After comparing a few juice cleanse options, I chose to do the 'First Time Cleanse' The Plant offers since it included a green & grain salad a day to ease you into 3rd day of all juice only. Overall, the cleanse gave me more energy and introduced me to new salad and veggies options I wouldn't typically try.

I know this isn't your typical beauty product but I figure trying something that will make your inside happy and pretty isn't that big of a stretch.

July image credit, rest are my own.

So you agree... July was a busy month

  3. Love the look of the food and that juice. Never tried juicing full on as a cleanse but I love one of those once in a while.

    1. The majority of the juices were beyond delicious - there were a few that I wouldn't try again haha. I'd recommend a cleanse if you wanted a jump start.
