September went by so fast, I can't even believe it's October already! This month I learned about prepping my skin, found a local gem with tons of beer and read about an billion dollar industry.
Book: Color Stories
By: Mary Gavenas
Since starting my new J.O.B in the beauty industry I wanted to learn as much as possible about the history and industry standards. A co-worker recommended and lent me 'Color Stories' by Mary Gavenas and it was a great read. It goes into detail about the history of makeup founders like Estee Lauder, the details that go into packaging, and how fashion week and beauty go hand in hand in creating trends. It's a really interesting, insightful read for any beauty hoarder!
Restaurant: Hopwater Distribution
When the beau and I heard that a new brewpub opened a block from our house we couldn't contain our excitement! With 30 beers on tap, there is literally something for everyone. I love that they support local breweries and even offer cider for those who aren't into a strong IPA like myself.
We dined on their cobb salad, a side of their steak fries (my second favorite cut) and chicken tenders with mango chipotle sauce. We'll certainly be back since there are 29 beers left to try :)
I'll be the first to admit that my makeup routine is pretty laid back. But since starting my new job in the industry, I've been learning a ton! First off, priming your skin prior to putting on foundation or tinted moisturizer is key to ensuring your look will last all day. Since I love having a dewy look I opted to try Prime Time Brightening. I love that it only takes 1 pump to cover my face and goes on so smoothly. It works great with my moisturizer too!
So you agree... you can't believe its already time for pumpkins
